Stich-N-Bitch

My friend Lauren made me the awesome blanket as a housewarming gift that she crocheted. Then she knitted me a really great scarf for Christmas. Several of my girlfriends and I decided that we wanted to learn how to knit and crochet also, so one Friday night we all went to Lauren's and ordered pizza and she taught us how to knit and crochet. (How old are we?) It may have been a dorky thing to do, but it was fun. And now I have a new dorky hobby that Neil likes to call "shitting". So I "shit" and I "crapbook". Oh, and I'm a "hooker" too. I bought these two great books to help me with my "shitting" and "hooking". They are a line of knitting and crocheting books titled Stitch-N-Bitch. They are really helpful and funny too. The crocheting book is titled The Happy Hooker, I guess in the late 1800's in France women crocheted fancy lace, and the wages were so poor they were expected to turn tricks on the side to make more money. That is supposedly where the word "hooker" came from. Anyways here is the blanket that Lauren made for me. =)

Here is my first "hooking" experience, I crocheted myself this scarf.

And here is another project, I'm knitting another scarf. I just taught myself how to purl so I am making a fun pattern. I don't think I could make anything besides scarves right now, so I am going to have a bunch to give away!
